May 16, 17, 18 and 19 Two day packages available |
|
This will be our 14th annual Yosemite Weekend. It gets bigger and better every year. The park has many trails for day hikes, backpacking, bicycles or horseback riding. If you're up for the challenge there is mountain/rock climbing. There are a number of tram and bus tours available for those who would like to ride around the park and not have to use your car.
Check in for the weekend will be available Friday afternoon. The two day package includes your stay through Sunday morning. The three day package will extend your stay through Monday morning.
All meals are included as well as evening snacks and everything for packed lunches for those who will be hiking during the day. We will be staying in Housekeeping Camp along the Merced river.
If you are flying in let us know and we'll arrange a car pool for you from either the San Jose, San Francisco or Sacramento airports. See the signup flyer for pricing details.
We sold out early last year and will most likely do so again this year given the feedback from our guests. Yosemite limits the number of cabins we can have so if you don't book early you may miss out.
This is a self help event so everyone is asked to help a little for one task once during the weekend. That way everyone gets to enjoy the weekend. The weather is usually good in May but something could go wrong that would close the park for either part or all of our weekend so you may want to consider trip insurance. The park was closed for about 1 day in May 2005 due to high water.
If you haven't joined us at Yosemite before and would like some idea of what it's like, Mary K. from the Denver club wrote a review of her experience at the Yosemite 2005 weekend. Mary K's Excellent Yosemite Adventure

Housekeeping Camp is located along a sandy bank of the Merced River in the center of Yosemite Valley. This is the ideal location for those who like to camp outdoors without the bother of setting up a tent. Housekeeping Camp features sandy beaches for swimming and sunbathing, plus great views of Yosemite Falls and Half Dome. Housekeeping Camp is also the only lodging facility that allows guests to cook their own meals, with each unit having an outdoor fire-pit and grill.
Each of the 266 units in the Housekeeping Camp area will sleep up to six people. The units consist of three concrete walls, a concrete floor, double canvas roof and a fourth curtain wall. The curtain separates the sleeping area from a covered patio that's furnished with picnic table, bear-proof food storage container and a privacy fence.
The sleeping area has two single bunk beds, a double bed, table, chairs, mirror, electrical lights and outlets. Linens and daily housekeeping service are not provided. There are no televisions or telephones. Central restrooms and shower facilities with soap and towels are just a short walk away. Bedpacks consisting of 2 sheets, 2 blankets, and 2 pillows may be rented for $2.50 per night. Please inquire at the front desk, or when making your reservations.
Nearby Activities & Services - Restaurants, fast food, gift shops, guided tours, horseback riding, rock climbing, hiking, fishing, ranger/naturalist programs and photography supplies.
